Iām based out of my family home right here on the Gold Coast, where lifeās pretty great if you ask me. With two little ones, two doggos, and a fellow business owner for a husband, our house can get pretty hectic. But I wouldnāt trade it for anything! I get to spend my days in my sun bathed studio, where my fur babies live the good life at my feet. Between naps, snacks (oh so many snacks!) and cuddles, Iām joined by my two little ones, who keep me grounded and remind me every day how pretty darn special this parenting thing is.
Embroidery was never something Iād considered as a business venture. My husband owns a business, and as the owner and operator of my own food truck, we both found ourselves on the hunt for custom branded apparel to dress ourselves and our respective teams in. What we kept finding though was the same, stock standard designs and offerings when what we really wanted was something with a bit more personality.
Now, I was raised as a ādoerā. So my natural instinct to give it a go myself quickly set in. I invested in a simple embroidery machine, taught myself the basics, sourced some excellent blanks (shirts, sweats and other apparel which we embroider on) and before I knew it we had some funky merch for our respective businesses.Ā
Pretty soon though, I found myself feeling the itch to create more. When Covid hit, I decided to explore the possibility of selling my embroidery services to other small businesses. Thanks to my eye for detail, customer centred approach and my perfectionist nature, I snagged a couple of clients with funky logos (which are totally up my alley) quickly.Ā
Before I knew it, things hit off and this lil side thing became my full time gig and I couldnāt be happier. I get to work with amazing people, and I get to bring their visions to life with modern and trendy embroidered merch.
